What does "managed" mean for TTS Cyber’s Network Operations Center?
It means somebody is responsible for the network hardware, and that somebody is TTS Cyber.
Updates and patches get applied to it. It is watched for stability during business hours. And when something does go wrong, it gets troubleshot rather than left running until it fails.
The strongest argument for that is what happens when nobody does it. Network hardware reaches end of life, and at that point the vendor stops shipping security fixes for it. Any flaw found in that firmware afterwards stays open on a device every connection into your network still passes through.
The device keeps working, which is exactly what makes it easy to leave alone. Having somebody whose job is to look at it is how that gets noticed while there is still time to plan a replacement.
When is the network actually being watched?
Proactive monitoring runs during business hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern. That is the window in which somebody is looking at the equipment and what it is reporting. Nobody is watching dashboards overnight or at weekends.
Answering a problem you report is a separate commitment, and how it is covered depends on how much of the business is affected.
For customers under a signed service agreement, TTS Cyber works to first-response targets of one hour for P1, where the whole company is down or disrupted; two hours for P2, where three or more people cannot work, or are severely degraded; and four hours for P3, where a single person is affected. A P1 is answered around the clock. P2 and P3 are answered Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern. All three are targets for first response, and none of them is a repair time.
The distinction is worth being precise about. Detection runs during business hours. Response to a P1 runs around the clock. A whole-company outage reported at 2:00 AM carries the same first-response target as one reported at 2:00 PM.
Can Managed NOC be bought on its own?
Yes. A TTS Cyber agreement is built from three parts (Managed IT, Managed Security and Managed NOC), and the NOC can be bought by itself. That matters most to a business that already has IT staff.
The person who fixes laptops and resets passwords is often not the person tracking update and patch levels on a firewall. Network hardware is the part of an environment that most easily ends up belonging to nobody in particular. Buying the NOC on its own gives that hardware an owner without changing who handles everything else.
Pricing works the same way as Managed IT and Managed Security. It is scoped to what you take on, so there is no per-user list price.

Why does managed network hardware matter?
Firewalls, switches, access points, and wireless are the hardware everything else in a business runs through. If it’s not kept current and watched for problems, everything that depends on it is exposed to the same risk.
Our firewall is end of life and won’t get vendor updates anymore, and now the VPN keeps dropping our remote staff. Is the dead firewall causing that, and is it a real security problem or can it wait for next budget year?
Treat those as two findings that happen to share one box. End of life means the vendor has stopped shipping security fixes.
